Two days of interdisciplinary exchange at the interface of AI and healthcare
On November 24 - 25, 2025, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and BIFOLD convened leading researchers from medicine, computer science, and AI at the CCM campus in Berlin for a two-day joint workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine. The program addressed core challenges at the interface of research and clinical practice, ranging from multimodal data integration and multiomics to foundation models, agentic AI and explainable systems in healthcare.
The workshop opened with welcome remarks by Prof. Dr. Geraldine Rauch (Director TU Berlin), Prof. Dr. Heyo Kroemer (CEO Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin) and Prof. Dr. Klaus-Robert Müller (co-director BIFOLD), followed by an opening keynote from Prof. Dr. Daniel Rückert (Munich Center for Machine Learning) on the evolving role of AI in medical research.
Across two days, international experts from academia, clinics and industry presented cutting-edge approaches for translating AI innovations into clinical workflows, while dedicated poster sessions and cross-connection formats fostered interdisciplinary exchange and new collaborations.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all our international speakers and colleagues for their fascinating insights into the latest research findings in this dynamic field, and to all participants for their great interest and highly engaged discussions.
