Establish your own team
BIFOLD can fund up to six Junior Research Groups, three in the domain of Data Systems related research, three in the domain of Machine Learning related research. The groups are embedded in the interdisciplinary research structures of the institute and profit from its vast possibilities for national and international exchange and cooperation.
Each group receives funding comparable to an ERC starting grant or Emmy Noether grant for five years. These groups give excellent, early career researchers the opportunity for building up a portfolio as independent researchers with a self-defined research agenda and international visibility.
Current BIFOLD Junior Research Groups
- Intelligent Biomedical Sensing (A. v. Lühmann)
- Probabilistic Modeling and Inference (S. Nakajima)
- ML for Molecular Simulation in Quantum Chemistry (S. Chmiela)
- Distributed Data Stream Processing in Heterogeneous Environments (S. Zeuch)
