Data Integration and Data Preparation
The research group Data Integration and Data preparation (D2IP) is chaired by Prof. Dr. Ziawasch Abedjan. His team conducts fundamental research at the intersection of databases and machine learning. Their goal is to create systems and algorithms that automate the often laborious process of integrating and preparing diverse sources for downstream applications. Specifically, the focus lies in the development of algorithms for streamlined data cleaning, transformation, matching, and discovery. Leveraging the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and programming paradigms, they aim to develop efficient and effective automated solutions for large datasets, to minimize user efforts and broaden the accessibility of data practices.
Welcome Prof. Dr. Ziawasch Abedjan
As of March 1, 2024, BIFOLD welcomes a new Research Group Lead in Berlin: Prof. Dr. Ziawasch Abedjan heads the new chair for Data Integration and Data Preparation. In particular, he develops new algorithms for the automatic preparation, extraction, and cleaning of datasets for data science workflows.
