I am a professor of theoretical physics at the Freie Universität Berlin, one of Germany's excellent universities (co-affiliated with the department of mathematics). I am also affiliated with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute and the Helmholtz Center Berlin. This also reflects the rich academic environment provided by Berlin.
In the past, I have been awarded an ERC Advanced Grant, an ERC Consolidator Grant, a EURYI Award (the predecessor of the ERC Starting Grant), and the Google NISQ Award. In the past, I have worked at Imperial College London, the Institute for Advanced Study Berlin and the University of Potsdam.
