From foundational research to applied systems: BIFOLD participates in one of the leading international forums for data management
At the 2026 ACM SIGMOD/PODS Conference, held from May 31 to June 5, 2026, in Bengaluru, India, BIFOLD researchers will contribute two presentations, one demonstration, and one workshop paper, alongside two prestigious individual awards and a wide range of coordination and program-committee roles.
Matthias Boehm and Ziawasch Abedjan serve as Associate Editors for the SIGMOD 2026 program, and Sebastian Schelter, Arnab Phani, Kajetan Maliszewski, Luca Zecchini, Sebastian Baunsgaard, Stefan Halfpap, Steffen Zeuch, and Varun Pandey serve on the program committee. For the co-located DEEM Workshop, Volker Markl and Sebastian Schelter serve on the Steering Committee, and Haralampos Gavriilidis, Matthias Boehm, and Sebastian Schelter serve on the Program Committee. BIFOLD Alumni Stefan Grafberger serves as one of the Workshop chairs.
In addition, BIFOLD researcher Arnab Phani is being recognized with two distinguished honors at SIGMOD 2026: a 2026 ACM SIGMOD Research Highlight Award and the SIGMOD Jim Gray Doctoral Dissertation Award (Runner Up).
