Researchers from Berlin, New York, Paris, and Zurich join forces to rethink wireless communication and make data transmission more energy-efficient.
An international research team led by Professor Giuseppe Caire from TU Berlin has been awarded a prestigious ERC Synergy Grant worth €10 million. Together with Professor Andrea Alù (City University of New York), Professor Marco di Renzo (Université Paris-Saclay), and Professor Christoph Studer (ETH Zurich), the group will explore a new approach to wireless communication that significantly reduces energy consumption. Over the next six years, the project “Waves, Physics, Information, and Computation” will investigate how electromagnetic waves can be processed more efficiently to enable low-emission data transmission.
