Artificial intelligence is transforming medicine—from the analysis of medical images to support in diagnosis and treatment. But how do such technologies emerge and evolve, and what questions does their use in medicine raise for individuals and our society?

Against the backdrop of the exhibition The Red Queen Effect by the artist duo kennedy & swan, which will be on view until the end of May 2026 in the foyer of the Rahel Hirsch Center for Translational Medicine at Charité, we would like to engage in a dialogue with the participating artists, scientific experts, and you: about the role of algorithms in diagnostics, about the opportunities and limitations of these technologies—and about the contribution art can make to making complex developments understandable, tangible, and open to discussion.

The Red Queen Effect was developed as part of the Art of Etanglement fellowship, awarded in 2024 by the Schering Foundation and the Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD).

The event will be held in German.
