What does it take to compress years of research into a few captivating minutes? At this Science Slam, five researchers take to the stage to present their work on artificial intelligence, clearly, entertainingly, and without the academic jargon. Each has only minutes to win over the audience, who ultimately decide which talk wins the evening. As part of the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften Berlin, BIFOLD joins forces with its Berlin AI Square partners (the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB)) to offer an accessible glimpse into the questions, methods, and surprises behind contemporary AI research. From the data that shapes algorithms to the quirks that make machines stumble, the evening explores why the quality of what goes into a system determines the quality of what comes out.
No prior knowledge is required. The event is open to anyone curious about science and is suitable for teenagers and adults alike. The Science Slam will be held in German.
