What is the meaning of creativity in the age of artificial intelligence?

Since the latest releases of ChatGPT, Midjourney or Stable Diffusion, discussions in science and art alternate between dystopian scenarios and limitless enthusiasm. If we look at the processes of artistic production or scientific research, the question increasingly arises whether generative AI tools merely reproduce, if not equal, the products of human creativity, or whether new or own forms of creativity emerge in dealing with them. What level of creativity can machines develop and what can they not? Is "creativity" even the right term to describe the way generative AI works? Is artistic access to AI limited to a playful exploitation of results that AI developers would rather clean up as flawed results of machine learning?

The event on the topic of "Creative AI ?!" is intended to provide space both for the controversy surrounding the concept of creativity in the context of AI development and for reflections that recognize novel potential in the development of co-creative processes between humans and machines.
