Student Assistant Position in Responsible Data Engineering

A 2-year position focusing on responsible data engineering

The DEEM Lab - supervised by Prof. Dr. Sebastian Schelter - conducts research in the field of Responsible Data Engineering, operating at the intersection of data engineering and machine learning. The goal is to develop efficient data systems for AI and machine learning applications that are easy to use while safeguarding users’ fundamental rights—such as the "right to be forgotten."

The research group is currently looking for two student assistants to support a research associate with tasks including the implementation of research prototypes (e.g., for data validation, machine unlearning, feature stores, and recommender systems) (70%), the collection, generation, and preparation of training data (20%), and the analysis of source code using large language models (10%).

The group also plan to include the student assistants as co-authors on the resulting academic publications.
