The Chair of "Machine Learning and Security" explores the interface between computer security and artificial intelligence (Al). The chair develops new approaches to protect learning-based systems and defend against attacks and malware. It is part of the Al Competence Center BIFOLD in Berlin.
The chair is looking to fill the position of a research assistant (PhD student) for the AI Competence Center BIFOLD. The position focuses on researching methods for the automated analysis of program code using machine learning (ML). The goal is to develop intelligent systems for the detection and analysis of attacks and vulnerabilities.
Tasks
- Detection of attacks and vulnerabilities using ML/ AI
- Security analysis of deployed ML/Al systems •
- Development of novel protection mechanisms

- Teaching tasks
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Computer Science or in a related technical area:
- Strong expertise in machine learning and/or computer security
- The ability to teach in German and/or English is required; willingness to acquire the missing language skills
