Now Open: The Neverending Cure
Mai 28th, 2025, we opened the new exhibition THE NEVERENDING CURE by kennedy+swan - the BIFOLD artists in residence 2024/2025 - at TU Berlin's main building. Roughly 80 guests enjoyed the inspiring artwork and exchange between artists and scienctists.

Researcher Spotlight: Dr. Simon Krug
Dr. Simon Krug is a former researcher in the Machine Learning Group at BIFOLD with a focus on computational alchemy and theoretical chemistry. He earned his PhD summa cum laude in 2024 for his work on mathematical methods to model atomic substitutions in molecules.

ICDE 2025 Best Paper Award
Congratulations to the BIFOLD researchers Ankit Chaudhary, Kaustubh Beedkar, Jeyhun Karimov, Felix Lang, Steffen Zeuch, and Volker Markl, who have been awarded the ICDE 2025 Best Paper Award for their research paper “Incremental Stream Query Placement in Massively Distributed and Volatile Infrastructures.”

BIFOLD co-director among top 20 computer scientists worldwide
Klaus-Robert Müller, Co-Director of BIFOLD, has been ranked #20 globally and #3 in Germany in Research.com's 2025 list of the Best Scientists in Computer Science.

ICDE 2025 Conference Contributions
BIFOLD researchers will participate in ICDE 2025, contributing three research papers. One of these papers will receive the Best Paper Award. The conference will be held May 19–23, 2025, in Hong Kong.

Researchers from Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute and BIFOLD have received the prestigious IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Award for their groundbreaking work on image quality assessment using deep neural networks.

Researcher Spotlight: Dr. Niklas Gebauer
Dr. Niklas Gebauer is a former BIFOLD machine learning group researcher specializing in machine learning for quantum chemistry. He received his PhD summa cum laude on the development of models to design new molecules in 2024. At the end of April, he announced his return to BIFOLD to continue his work on AI-driven molecular discovery.
